Conway, AR -Â The Hendrix women's soccer team took on the Stormy Petrels of Oglethorpe University Friday night on a very special senior night. Women's Soccer honored six seniors;
Zoe Corwyn,
Janie Stultz,
Lucy Moore,
Maddie Mae Seyer, Katherin Aristondo, and
Jordan Rausch. Hendrix entered the match 5-6 overall and 1-1 in conference. Oglethorpe came into play with a record of 3-6 overall and 0-2 in conference.Â
Neither team was able to get much offense going as the game would remain scoreless after regulation forcing overtime. Two overtime periods later the game would end tied up 0-0.
"I didn't feel like we played a very good game in the first half," said Head Coach
Jeff Trimble. "I was proud of how the girls responded and played much better in the second half and in overtime. We gave ourselves a couple chances to score but Oglethorpe was very organized and well coached tonight."
Margret Anderson and
Sydney Blevins each had two shots with one on goal while
Evie Cannon also added two shots.
Jordan Rausch was able to make seven saves on the night for the Warriors.
The tie puts the Warriors to 5-6-1Â overall and 1-1-1 in conference.
Hendrix will look to add to their win column on Sunday when they take on Berry at Warrior Field.Â
