Danville, KY - The Hendrix Warriors fell to the Centre Colonels on Sunday morning by a score of 8-2.
The Colonels took an early 1-0 lead after they fired a shot just beating Hendrix keeper
Alexis Truitt in the fourth minute.
However, the Warriors would tie it up within the next two minutes on a goal by
Holly Heeb.
The second goal of the game for HC came from
Sophie Mazzaro in the second half with 30 minutes remaining, but it wasn't enough as the Warriors fell by six.
"Hendrix added to their scoring depth today by having a sixth player find the back of the cage," said Head Coach
Rebecca Begley. "This was in addition to Heeb's seventh goal, and 18th point of the season."
"The team is coming together," continued Coach Begley. "Its great to see them develop as players but even more as teammates. Their versatility and perseverance will pay off come tournament time."
As mentioned, Heeb led the charge for the Warriors with a goal on three shots.
The loss drops the Warriors to 3-5 on the season and 1-2 in the SAA. They return to action again when they host Lindenwood - Belleville on Saturday. Game time is slated for 1:00pm.
