Marshall, TX -Â The Hendrix College men's basketball team returned to action this evening in a road match-up with East Texas Baptist University.
The Tigers would enter the second half red hot and Hendrix (1-6) had no answer for the hot shooting Tigers who shot 56.3% from the field en route to a 91-78 victory.
Hendrix started the game on a 8-2 run in the opening four minutes, to build an early six-point lead. By the thirteen-minute mark of the first half they held a seven point lead. HC would be up 31-26 at the 7:26 mark on a free-throw by
Eric Roberts.
The Warriors entered the halftime intermission with a four-point lead 51-47.
Following the break, the Tigers would cut into the lead. They would take a ten-point lead over HC at the 7:56 mark, on a three-pointer making the game 74-64.Â
The Tigers would cruise the rest of the way winning 91-78.
"I'm proud of how our guys came out in the first half," said Head Coach
Thad McCracken. "Our intensity was evident at both ends of the floor. The challenge we have ahead of us is finding a way to sustain that intensity throughout the entire game. Hopefully we can get some rest tonight and be ready to rebound tomorrow."
Hendrix had a strong attack, with five players reaching double-figures in points. They were led by
Jacob Link who finished with 23 points on 8-11 effort from the field.

Preston Smith and freshman
Kam Brasfield and
Marcis Hall all reached double digits in points with ten each.
The Warriors will have a quick turn around and look to bounce back Tuesday when they take on Dallas. The game is scheduled to tip-off at 7:30 pm.
