Irving, TX - The Hendrix College men's basketball team returned to action this evening in a non-conference match-up with the University of Dallas.

The game was a rematch from a meeting earlier in the season where the Warriors fell 90-76.

The first half that saw Dallas take the lead of nine points near the mid-way point going up 21-12 on a three-pointer. The Warriors would try and cut into the lead but would go into the break down 46-29.

Dallas would remain consistent in the early portions of the second half, holding a 56-43 lead at the 13:28 mark of the second stanza.

The Warriors answered back though, going on a run in the next five minutes to cut the deficit to 62-53 just inside the halfway mark of the second half.

The Crusaders continued to grind though, holding the lead for the rest of the game.

The Crusaders finished the game and would win 89-78 on their home court.

"We have to find a way to play two halves of basketball," said head coach Thad McCracken. "We continue to play well and compete but need to pull it together for 40 minutes. I am proud of our effort but our focus needs to be elevated."

The loss drops Hendrix to 1-8.

The Warriors had a quartet of players in double-figures scoring on the night. Preston Smith (24) and Trey Rouse (13) led the team in points. Jacob Link and Kam Brasfield both finished with 13 and eleven points respectively. 

Hendrix will play next on Dec. 29th when they host UT Tyler. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:00 pm.
