Warriors Cruise Past Scotties For Non-Conference Win

Memphis, TN - The Hendrix Warriors women's basketball team opened their weekend of play on the road with a match-up against the Scotties of Agnes Scott. Hendrix, coming off a great 78-70 win against Austin College, entered the day with a 5-1 overall record.

After a four hour delayed start the first quarter belonged to Hendrix as they were able to break out to a 12-0 lead, with six minutes remaining in the frame.

Down 18-6 the Scotties garnered the last point of the quarter and cut the deficit to eleven heading into the second quarter.

Leah Boehl notched nine points and one rebound in the first half with help from Madison Martin and Vinessa Daniel who had eight and five points respectively.

The third quarter saw the Warriors continue to take control of the game behind great quarters from Daniel and Leah Smith. The third quarter ended, and the Warriors found themselves ahead by 18, (49-31).

The final frame saw the Warriors cruise to victory as they dominated the fourth quarter. They led by as many as 20 and walked away with a 57-43 victory.

"I am proud of the girls effort," said Head Coach Drew Gaeng. "We started fast and gutted out a win. We will have to get ready for a quick turnaround and a big game tomorrow."
