St. Louis, MO - The Hendrix college women's basketball team returned to action this evening in a match-up with non-conference team Washington University (Mo.).
Hendrix entered the game with a 7-2Â record.
The Bears controlled the tempo of the game from start to finish, winning 69-34.
Washington outshot Hendrix 40% to 18.5% on the night as the Warriors couldn't ever quite get it going in the offensive end of the court.Â
Freshman
Vinessa Daniel had another strong game with 12 points and seven rebounds to go along with three steals. Senior
Madison Martin played tough as well and contributed seven points in the loss.
The Warriors where also led by
Kessie Jenkins who had seven points.
Heather Prowse (3),
Leah Boehl (2),
Leah Smith (2) and
Whitney Woods (1) also scored for HC. Jenkins also had the team best eight rebounds.
Hendrix did hold an edge in second-chance points with a 9-8 advantage, but it was not enough to overcome the cold-shooting night and their ten turnovers.
The Warriors return to action on Saturday at 1:00 pm when they take on the Griffins of Fontbonne.
