GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas - The Hendrix College baseball team committed three errors in the top of the ninth in a 5-4 loss to the University of Dallas at the Rusty Greeer/Jackie Moore Collegiate Classic at AirHogs Stadium Friday night.
The Warriors (0-1) built a 2-0 lead in bottom of the first when sophomore third baseman
Jorge Leon and senior left fielder
Wyatt Hogan reached on singles, then sophomore first baseman
Josh Walker singled down the right field line, driving in Leon. Junior designated hitter
Matthew Lillard followed with a single to center field, plating Hogan.
In the third, Leon was hit by a pitch and Hogan singled to put two runners on with one out. After a wild pitch moved both in scoring position, Walker hit a sacrifice fly to center, scoring Leon. Lillard knocked in Hogan with another single to center field to make the game 4-0.
The Crusaders (2-2) picked up a run in the top of the fourth on a RBI-single from third baseman Nathan Patton.
The game remained 4-1 until the top of ninth, when Hendrix committed three errors, leading to four unearned runs. Hendrix left one runner on in the bottom of the ninth.

- The Warriors outhit the Crusaders 9-7.

Taylor Barker started the game on the mound and threw seven innings, allowing six hits, a run and two walks to go with three strikeouts in the no decision.
- Freshman
Skylar Furey (0-1) took the loss by allowing the four unearned runs with two walks in 1.1 innings.
- Hogan picked up a pair of hits, scored twice and stole a base.
- Lillard went 2-for-4 with two RBI.
- Walker also drove in a pair of run.
- Leon went 1-for-3 with two runs and a walk.
- Sophomore catcher
Justin Robison had two hits, including a double, and stole a base.
Dallas Notes
- Designate hitter Seth Hanson had two hits, including a double, and a RBI.
- Second baseman Josh Abalos and Patton also had a RBI each.
- Abraham Griesbauer (1-0) earned the win by allowing three hits and struck out six in five innings of relief.
- William Marshall allowed a walk in a scoreless ninth to pick up the save.
