CONWAY, Ark. - The Hendrix College women's tennis team improved their record to 3-1 with a 7-2 victory over John Brown University at home Friday night.
The Warriors picked up a pair of wins over the Golden Eagles (0-2) in doubles with senior
Pratheepa Ravikumar teaming with freshman
Rebecca Sherman for an 8-3 win over Taylor Russell and Eva Berry at number one. Senior
Lauren Mahaney and freshman
Sara Hoopchuk defeated Grace Cusick and Caitlin King 8-5 at number two doubles.
In singles, Hendrix took five of the six matches. Ravikumar defeated Russell 6-4, 6-3 in the top flight and Mahaney downed Claire Griffin 6-0, 6-0 at number two. Sherman was a 6-2, 7-5 victor over Julia McNeill in the third spot and junior
Sarah Walker defeated Berry 3-6, 7-5, 1-0 (10-3) in a third-set tiebreaker in number four singles.
Sophomore
Sarah Glass earned the final victory for the Warriors, defeating Maddie Madewell 6-4, 6-0 in number six singles.
Hendrix will be back on their home court Saturday evening against the University of the Ozarks at 5:30 p.m.
