BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Hendrix College women's basketball team defeated Berry College 66-43 in the first round of the Southern Athletic Association Tournament Friday night.
With the win, the third-seeded Warriors (16-10) will take the second seed Millsaps College at 6 p.m. Saturday night.
Hendrix jumped out to a 16-9 lead after the first quarter. They expanded their lead to 13 early in the second quarter, before the Vikings (11-16) cut the deficit to 30-25 at halftime. The Warriors outscored the sixth-seeded Vikings 17-6 in the third quarter to go up 47-31 headed to the final period. The Orange & Black led by as many as 25 in the fourth.
For the game, Hendrix shot 38.2 percent (21-of-55) from the field, 5-of-15 from three-point range and 19-of-25 at the free throw line with 48 rebounds, eight assists, 13 turnovers, two blocked shots and seven steals. Berry shot 27.1 percent (16-of-59) overall, 3-of-19 from outside and 8-of-15 at the line with 37 boards, three assists, 12 turnovers, one block and seven steals.

Sara Dyslin led the Warriors with her 17th double-double of the year, recording 14 points and 13 rebounds.
- Junior center
Madison Martin posted her seventh double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds.
- Junior forward
Heather Prowse had 13 points and five rebounds with two assists and two steals.
- Senior guard
Hailey Bode hit a trio of three-pointers en route to 11 points.
- Freshman guard
Amber Turner came up with seven points and two steals.
