CONWAY, Ark. - The Hendrix College women's tennis team lost to NCAA Division II power Harding University inside the Hatcher Tennis Center Wednesday evening.

Rebecca Sherman lost an 8-3 decision to Piper Huey and Laura Golubic, the fifth-ranked duo in the Division II Central Region.
HU's Emily Faulkner and Milou Dalmolen defeated seniors
Julia Lefler and
Lauren Mahaney in the second doubles spot.
In singles, Sherman had a hard-fought loss to Faulkner 6-4, 6-3 in the fifth spot. Lefler took Gabriella Alves to her limits with a 6-4, 6-2 loss in number two singles.
Huey, ranked seventh regionally, defeated Ravikumar 6-2, 6-0 in the top spot. Mahaney suffered a 6-3, 6-1 loss to Brittany Smyers in the third flight and junior
Sarah Walker lost to Erin Young 6-1, 6-2 in the sixth spot.
Hendrix will take on John Brown University at home on Feb. 17.
