JACKSON, Miss. - The Hendrix College baseball team lost their Southern Athletic Association series opener at Millsaps College 10-1.
The Majors (12-15, 3-6) took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the third. The Warriors (9-17, 3-7) tied it in the top of the fifth when junior designated hitter
Jake Wiegand led off with a double and later scored on a base hit up the middle from sophomore third baseman
Jorge Leon.
Millsaps took the lead with a pair of runs in the bottom of the fifth. They added three more in the sixth and four in the eighth.
Jacob Mardick (5-2) earned the win with five strikeouts and allowing six hits, a run and two walks over seven innings. Sophomore
Taylor Barker (1-3) took the loss, giving up eight hits, five runs, two walks and a strikeout over 5.2 frames.
