JACKSON, Miss. - After losing in the Southern Athletic Association series opener Friday night, the Hendrix College baseball rebounded on Saturday to sweep a double-header from Millsaps College at Twenty Field. The Warriors (11-17, 5-7) took the opener 8-6, then beat the Majors (12-17, 3-8) 8-2 in seven innings.
Millsaps jumped out to a 3-0 lead after two frames in the opener. Hendrix picked up a run in the third when junior second baseman
Drew Judson led off with a single, moved to second on a passed ball and scored on a single by junior right fielder
Matthew Lillard.
The Majors scored two more times in the bottom of the third to go up 5-1. The Warriors tied it up in the fifth with four runs. Sophomore third baseman
Jorge Leon led off with a walk, Judson doubled and sophomore first baseman
Josh Walker was hit by a pitch to load the bases. Lillard followed with a double to left field, scoring two. Sophomore shortstop
Tanner Cooper hit a sacrifice fly to center, plating Walker, then Lillard scored the tying run on a double by senior left fielder
Wyatt Hogan.
The Orange & Black took a 7-5 lead in the seventh on two-out, two-run single by senior catcher
James Martin. Hendrix added one more run in the eighth when Leon led off with a triple and scored later on a sac fly by Lillard. Millsaps would add a final unearned run in the ninth for the final 8-6 score.
Freshman
Evan Ingram (2-1) picked up the win by allowing three hits, two runs and three walks with a strikeout in four innings of relief. Senior
Connor Nelson fanned two batters and gave up two hits and an unearned run to earn the save. Hayden Williams (0-3) took the loss for the Majors.

- Lillard was 3-for-4 with a double, a sac fly and four RBI.
- Leon was 2-for-4 with two runs scored and a triple.
- Judson had a single, a double and scored twice.
- Martin drove in a pair of runs on his single.
- Walker tied the school record by being by a pitch three times. He also drew a walk.

- Second baseman Connor Woodall went 3-for-5 with two runs scored, two RBI, a double and a home run.
- Shortstop Logan Patterson was 3-for-4 with a RBI.
- Center fielder Cavan Breland had two hits hits, two runs scored and two stolen bases

In game two, Hendrix starter
Colin Brown (4-3) threw a complete game, allowing just three hits, one earned run, four walks and six strikeotus. Daniel Adams (1-6) started and gave up three hits, four runs and three walks in just 1.2 innings for the loss.
The Majors scored a run in the first after right fielder Seth Trulock led off with a double and scored on a passed ball. The Warriors took the lead with four runs in the second. Junior designated hitter
Jake Wiegand hit a sacrifice fly, freshman center fielder
Sean Dehne had a RBI-single and Leon had a two-run double in the inning.
Lillard led the third off with a double and scored on a base hit from Wiegand. Left fielder Brennan Ducote knocked in Breland with a base hit in the third to make the game 5-2. Judson singled and scored on a Lillard sac fly in the top of the fourth. Hogan followed with a two-run home run to give the Warriors the 8-2 win.

- Hogan went 4-for-4 with two runs scored and the two-run home run.
- Wiegand was 2-for-3 with two runs driven in.
