CONWAY, Ark. - The Hendrix College baseball completed two victories over in-state foe the University of the Ozarks at Warrior Field Wednesday night.
The Warriors (17-20) finished off a 12-6 win over the Eagles (9-24) in a suspended game from Apr. 4. Hendrix then erased a late three-run deficit to win 8-7.
In the first win, the Warriors scored five runs on a hit, two errors, a walk, hit batter and sac fly in the bottom of the second. Freshman catcher
Joshua Rollins had a two-run double in the inning. They went up 9-0 in the fifth on a
Jorge Leon sacrifice fly and a three-run homer over the left field fence by junior center fielder
Drew Judson. Junior right fielder
Matthew Lillard hit a solo shot in the sixth to give Hendrix a 10-0 advantage.
Ozarks managed six runs in the top of the seventh on three-run doubles from third baseman Dakota Ebarb and left fielder Patrick Mixon.
The Orange & Black added two more runs in the seventh to make the game 12-6.
Freshman starter
Josh Gonzales (2-1) earned the win with two strikeouts and two hits allowed in two scoreless innings. Senior
Baker Helton fanned two in the three-inning save. AJ Chalupka (0-1) took the loss, giving up one hit, three earned runs and two walks in 1.2 innings.

- Lillard went 3-for-4 with a run scored, two RBI, a double and home run.
- Judson drove in four runs, including the three-run homer.
- Rollins went 2-for-5 with two runs scored, a double and two RBI.
- Leon knocked in two runs with two RBI, a stolen base and two sac flies.

In Wednesday's full game, the Eagles scored two runs in the top of the first. The Warriors took a 3-2 lead in the bottom of the frame. Leon led off with a base hit, stole second and reached third on an error. Judson walked and sophomore first baseman
Josh Walker was hit by a pitch to load the bases. Leon scored on a wild pitch and senior left fielder
Wyatt Hogan plated Judson and Walker with a double to left.
Hendrix went up 4-2 in the second when Judson singled, stole second and scored on a Lillard double. Ozarks took regained the lead in the third on three hits, an error, two walks and a passed ball.
First baseman Chase Edwards hit a two-run single in the top of the fifth to give the Eagles a 7-4 lead. The Warriors tied it up in the bottom of the seventh. With one out, Leon singled, followed by a Judson single and an error that allowed the former to score and the latter to reach third. Lillard followed with a home run down the right field line to tie the game at 7-7.
Hendrix took won the game in the eighth when Hogan led off with a double, was bunted over by Wiegand and scored on a squeeze bunt from sophomore second baseman
Dylan Bowers.
Sophomore
Taylor Barker (4-3) earned the win, allowing a walk in a scoreless eighth. Junior
Colin Brown picked up his first save with a strikeout in the ninth. Jack Waggoner (2-5) took the loss for the Eagles.
Hendrix Game 2 Notes
- With Lillard's three RBI, he broke Jeff Forgerson's 2009 single-season program record with 47 RBI this year. Lillard recorded a double to go with his sixth home run of the year.
- Judson went 2-for-3 with three RBI and a steal.
- Hogan was connected on two RBI with two RBI and a run scored.
- Leon recorded two hits, two runs and a stolen base.
