Conway, AR - The Hendrix College Women's Soccer team had their home opener today taking on the Crusaders of the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor in non-conference action. It was the second straight game that saw the Warrior offense struggle to get going as the Crusaders bested Hendrix 1-0 in OT.
"I thought we played really well today," said Head Coach
Jeff Trimble. "Its Heartbreaking to lose that game. Mary Hardin-Baylor is a good team."
"We had numerous chances and just didn't finish," ended Coach Trimble. "I felt like our defenders played great and we will continue to keep working on our finishing."
UMHB controlled position throughout, out shooting the Warriors 19-15 however HC would win ten corners compared to three for the Crusaders.
After making 20 saves so far this season, senior
Jordan Rausch made ten saves this afternoon. Eveie Connon,
Melissa Miller,
Hagan Griffith,
Lucy Moore, and
Emily Baldwin each tallied shots on goal in the loss.
Hendrix will be back in action on Tuesday, September 12 when they will host the Mustangs of Central Baptist College. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 pm.
