Webster Groves, MO -Â The Hendrix College Men's Soccer Team returned to the pitch in Webster Groves, MO for a matchup with Webster University.
After three straight wins the Warriors entered play with a 3-4 overall record and looked to keep the win streak alive. The Gorloks came into play after ending their last game in a tie and with a record of 3-2-1 overall.
The Warriors struck first with a goal in the 28' from
Gordon Perrin. Perrin scored a great left goal from eight yards out to the roof of the net.Â
Webster would come right back with a goal of their own just a minute later.
After going into half time all tied up, Hendrix would ultimately fall after Logan Takizawa would score the game winning goal for WU from 12-yards out.
"We started the game decently as both teams shared the possession equally, but as the game wore on Webster was the better team," said Head Coach
Matt Kern. "Our collective defending showed long stretches of quality, but our individual defending was off pace today."
"Full credit to Webster, as their off the ball movement created problems for us and we had difficulty connecting passes in the middle of the final third," ended Coach Kern.
The loss breaks the win streak for the Warriors and puts their record at 3-5, and the win puts Webster at 4-2-1 overall.
The Warriors will return back to action on September 20th as they welcome the Pilots of LSU Shreveport to Warrior field.
