Conway, AR - The Hendrix College Women's Soccer team took on the LSU Shreveport Pilots in a Wednesday afternoon non-conference matchup.

The Pilots entered the match with a 1-1-2 overall record.Hendrix entered the match with a 3-4 overall record.

Hendrix controlled the pace of game in the early going as they outshot the Pilots 7-4 in the first half, as each team was able to get on the scoreboard once and they entered the locker room deadlocked at 1-1.

The Warriors came out strong in the opening minutes of the second half, getting a few early shots off. Lucy Moore was able to sink one into the net and put the Warriors up 2-1.

Hendrix had another strong scoring opportunity in the 60' as Melissa Miller sunk another shot into the goal to bring the HC lead to 3-1.

The Pilots threatened in the last few minutes, but the Hendrix defense was able to secure the 3-1 victory.

"I was proud of the girls tonight," said Head Coach Jeff Trimble. "We had an injury to a key player on our team and then played a player down because of cards but we still found a way to win the game. We look forward to starting our conference games on Saturday."

The Warriors return to action on Saturday when they host SAA conference rival Birmingham Southern.  Kickoff is scheduled for 5:00 pm.
