Conway, AR - The Hendrix College Women's Soccer team opened SAA play on Saturday afternoon when they hosted the Panthers of Birmingham Southern. In what was a close game throughout, Birmingham Southern used a late goal in the first half and to come away with a 2-1 win over the Warriors.
The Warriors got on the board on an early goal in the 13th minute from
Hagan Griffith that tied them at 1-1. Birmingham Southern was able to get just one more shot past keeper
Jordan Rausch in the opening stanza to seal the 2-1 victory.
Rausch played very well in between the pipes once again for Hendrix, making four saves keeping the Warriors in the contest.
The loss drops the Warriors to 4-5 on the season and 0-1 in SAA play as they look forward to a home tilt with the Millsaps Majors on Friday, September 29 at Warrior Field. Kickoff is scheduled for 4:30 pm.
