Griffith's Performance Leads Hendrix Past Petrels in History-Making Evening

ATLANTA, GA. - Looking to get back to the winning side of things, Hendrix faced a tough Oglethorpe Petrels team Friday evening in Atlanta, Ga. It would be junior Hagan Griffith who showed up and would led the way for the road team, scoring two more goals Friday evening; her fourth multi-goal game of the 2018 season. With her two goals, not only did Hendrix pick up a huge momentum game and get back to the winning side of things, with the 2-0 victory, Hendrix clinched its first-ever Women's Soccer Southern Athletic Association home playoff game in program history. Hendrix is guaranteed to be a top-four seed in the upcoming conference tournament now and will at least be playing its first round from Warrior Soccer Field in Conway, AR.

- After taking a 1-0 lead into the break, Griffith struck again in the 37th minute, this time coming from senior Evie Cannon.
- Griffith now leads the SAA, once again, with 12 goals on the season. She is five goals shy of breaking the all-time record for goals scored in Hendrix Women's Soccer history (Samantha Lallas - 47).
- Although the Petrels landed just five shots on the day, Oglethorpe received four corner kicks while Hendrix landed just one.
- A few days after receiving the SAA Defensive Player of the Week honors for the first time, sophomore keeper Anna Claire Lewis picked up her fifth win of the season to improve to 5-0 and also recorded one save in 90 minutes of action.
