CONWAY, Ark - Coming off a straight-set victory over Oglethorpe Saturday, Hendrix was in search for its fourth win streak of the 2018 season with a match against NAIA foe Philander Smith College looming Wednesday evening in Conway. The Warriors downed the Panthers in straight-sets (25-10, 25-15, 25-12) to pick up its 12th straight-set victory of the year. Senior
Amber Melcher led the way for the Warriors with a game-high 15 assists; also picked up a game-best three service aces against the Panthers. With the win, Hendrix improves to 17-5 on the year and 9-3 in Southern Athletic Association play with two conference home matches left and four total regular season games left inside Grove Gymnasium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- After holding the Panthers to just .034 in the opening frame, Hendrix recording a .321 attacking mark en rout to a 25-10 first set win.
- Leading just 15-13, Hendrix went on a 10-2 run following a timeout to take the second set 25-15 highlighted by a powerful kill from freshman
Grace Turner.
- A nice 5-0 run midway through the third set helped the home team pull away. A 6-0 run capped off by a kill from freshman
Sadie Walker gave Hendrix the 25-12 third set victory and yet another straight-set win in Head Coach
Brittany Newberry's inaugural coaching campaign at Hendrix.
- Junior
Sesalie Satterwhite added 13 assists in the win; also added a pair of digs against PSC.
- Sophomore
Maddie Tovar notched a season-best 12 kills on 21 total attacks for a .429 mark; also added five digs and a pair of service aces.
- Turner pitched in a career-high five kills in the win with a .364 attack mark as well.
- Sophomore
Jeanette McGrath added a team-best 10 digs Wednesday night also.
UP NEXT
Now that the Warriors have finished its midweek non-conference contest, Hendrix will gear up for its last SAA home stand when the Warriors take on Centre Saturday and Sewanee on Senior Day on Sunday. Saturday's contest will also serve as Swinging for Pink; all donations will be sent directly to the National Breast Cancer Foundation. With just two conference contests left, Hendrix is currently in third place in the SAA; trailing only No. 16 Berry and Birmingham-Southern.
