BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Trying to snap a four-game losing skid, the Warriors hit the road to Alabama for yet another Southern Athletic Association showdown, this time against the Panthers of Birmingham-Southern College. For the third time in the last four games, the Warriors maintained an early 3-0 lead after another successful field goal try by senior
Sandy Burks early in the opening quarter. Unfortunately for Hendrix, the Panthers would soon wake up and score 21 points in the opening half and 22 points in the third quarter en rout to a 57-41 win over the Warriors Saturday from Krulak Stadium in Birmingham, Ala.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Burks nailed a 24-yard field goal on Hendrix's opening possession, capping off a 12-play, 61-yard drive that lasted nearly five minutes.
- After a BSC score, junior
Mason Doerr found freshman
Tyler Urban from 28 yards out to put Hendrix up 9-7.
- Both teams exchanged touchdown plays for over the next quarter.
- Doerr walked into the end zone after an eight-yard scamper with just under seven minutes to go in the third quarter. Hendrix maintained a 29-28 lead.
- The Panthers racked up 21 unanswered points to take a commanding 50-21 lead before Doerr found senior receiver
Michael Spainhour from 62 yards out.
- Trailing 57-35 with less than a minute to go in regulation, Doerr found Spainhour again, this time from 11 yards out.
- BSC would get the ball back with 45 ticks left on the clock leading by 16. Two quarterback kneels and the home team recorded a 57-41 victory.
OFFENSIVE NOTABLES:
- Doerr racked up a career-best 413 yards and four touchdown tosses and a rushing touchdown as well.
- Sophomore
Levi Jones rushed four times for a nice 108 yards including a 48-yard scamper to the house in the third quarter that gave the Warriors a one-point edge.
- Sophomore
Kip VanHoose ran the ball nine times for 61 yards on the day with a long of 41 yards against BSC.
- Spainhour's two-touchdown performance led him to be the leading receiver for the Warriors. The senior recorded 104 yards on five catches.
- Sophomore
Isaiah Davison added 69 reception yards on four catches.
- Freshman
Colton Phillips caught three catches for 33 yards including a season-best 16-yard reception.
DEFENSIVE NOTABLES:
- Junior
Cory McGonigal and sophomore
Brooks Parham led the way for the Warriors on defensive. Both players finishing with six tackles a piece and combining for 11 solo tackles.
- Sophomore
Jared Bazley recorded the lone sack on the day for the road team for a loss of 11 yards; his fifth sack of the season.
- Senior
Duwan Booker added four solo tackles and an assisted one to finish with five; also had a tackle for a loss of one yard against the Panthers.
- Parham also forced a fumble in the loss.
SPECIAL TEAMS NOTABLES:
- Burks improves to 7-of-7 on the year from field goal tries.
- Senior
Garrett Wolf carded five punts for 218 yards with a long of 51 on the day.
- Wolf also landed one punt inside the Panther's 20-yard line and recorded a touchback as well.
