CLARKSVILLE, Ark. - In just her 28th collegiate game of her young career, sophomore guard Vinessa Daniel recorded a career-best 31 point performance Tuesday evening in Clarksville on an efficient 9-of-18 from the floor to propel the Warriors to a 1-0 start to the season for the fifth consecutive season after a 73-63 victory over University of the Ozarks in the season opener. In addition to the 31 points, the Mountain Home, Ark. product pulled down 10 boards total to net her first career double-double. Daniel's 31-point performance is a new program record for most points in a season opener and is near the top of the list in program history all-time.

TURNING POINT
- Trailing 16-11 after the opening quarter, Hendrix carved up a 10-0 run late in the second which included holding the Eagles to just one basket for the last 4:40 of the half to take a one-point lead at the intermission.
OF NOTE
- Warriors outscored Ozarks 41-28 in the second and third quarters combined.
- Senior forward
Maddie Anderson, the lone senior on the squad, nearly carded a double-double after finishing with 11 points and eight boards in 21 minutes of action.
- In her collegiate debut,
Zoe Mojaver banked in two trifecta's in six minutes of action for six points.
- Junior
Amber Turner logged eight points and a game-high seven dimes in 39 minutes.
- 23 of Daniel's 31 points ended up coming after the intermission break.
- Following her impressive performance, Daniel now leads the entire Southern Athletic Association field in scoring and is second in rebounding.
- Freshman
Jayla King logged six points and six rebounds in her collegiate debut as well.

WHO'S NEXT
Now that the Warriors have recorded their first regular season game of the 2018-19 season, all eyes are shifted to the 2018 SCAC/SAA Challenge which begins Saturday afternoon and lasts until Sunday night. The Warriors will face the Centenary (La.) Ladies Saturday at 3 p.m. before taking on Austin College Sunday at 1 p.m.
