CONWAY, Ark. - After being on the road for their first two games of the season, including an exhibition contest across town at University of Central Arkansas, Hendrix opened up the home portion of their 2018-2019 season Saturday afternoon against Centenary (La.) in the 2018 SCAC/SAA Challenge at Grove Gymnasium. Sophomore Vinessa Daniel tallied another new career-best and set a new program record with 38 points to help the Warriors maintain their perfect season Saturday afternoon. After holding a 7-0 lead halfway through the first quarter, the Warriors held on to go into halftime with a three-point lead. After a back-and-forth battle throughout the second half, the Warriors held on for a 75-68 victory over the Centenary (La.) College Ladies, improving to 2-0 on the season and preserving their perfect overall record. In addition to her 38 points, Daniel also recorded nine rebounds while junior Amber Turner tallied 11 rebounds and eight assists and senior Maddie Anderson registered 15 points to propel the Warriors to victory over the Ladies at Grove Gymnasium Saturday afternoon.

TURNING POINT
- After a back-and-forth battle, the Warriors took total control of the game, going on a 7-0 run and holding the Ladies scoreless in the final two and a half minutes of the game to ultimately win 75-68.
OF NOTE
- One game after tallying 31 points and 10 boards in her first collegiate double-double, Daniel scored a career-high 38 points Saturday and nearly added her second double-double with nine rebounds in the win in 34 minutes of work; also went 12-of-18 from the charity stripe.
- Turner recorded 11 rebounds and a game-high eight assists in the victory.
- Anderson tallied 15 points and six rebounds on the day.
- Freshman Jayla King carded nine points and a pair of blocks.
- Hendrix shot 28-of-61 (45.9%) from the floor and 15-of-26 (57.7%) from the free throw line while the Ladies tallied a 22-of-61 mark (36.1%) and 19-of-24 (79.2%) from the charity stripe.

With one game complete in the weekend-long tournament, the Warriors play again tomorrow again inside the confines of the Grove Gymnasium. Hendrix takes on non-conference foe Austin College at 1 p.m. Sunday in the final contest in the 2018 SCAC/SAA Challenge.
