CONWAY, Ark. – Hendrix welcomed in the Southwestern Pirates Saturday afternoon as part of Hendrix's first game of the 2018 Hendrix College Warrior Classic. After outscoring the Pirates in the first two quarters and maintaining a 38-16 lead at the half, Hendrix notched its third double-digit victory of the season after a 65-48 route of Southwestern from Grove Gymnasium. Kessie Jenkins nearly bested her career-high of 20 points set in 2017 after a 18-point, nine-rebound performance in the win Saturday while freshman forward
Jayla King produced a career-best 10 rebounds and logged her first collegiate double-double with 10 points as well. In the win, Hendrix improves to 4-2 while the Pirates fall to 1-5.

TURNING POINT
Overall for the opening period, the Warriors outscored the Pirates 19-4 to take a commanding 15-point lead after one quarter of play.
OF NOTE
- After leading by as many as 29 points midway through the third quarter, Southwestern never managed to get within a 17-point margin (final score).
- Despite connecting on just three trifectas for the whole game, Hendrix shot 22-of-60 (36.7%) for the game and out rebounded the Pirates by nine (43-34).
- The Warriors nearly doubled-up Southwestern in the paint after Hendrix recorded 34 points in the paint compared to Southwestern's 20.
- After coming into Saturday's contest ranked eighth in both scoring and free throw makes in all of NCAA Division III, sophomore guard
Vinessa Daniel recorded 12 points, three assists and two boards in 26 minutes of action while going 6-of-7 from the charity stripe.

Serena Pruitt combined for 15 points, nine rebounds and six assists in the win against the Pirates.
- Sophomore forward
Whitney Woods bested her previous career-high of five points after registering six points; all of which were recorded in the opening half. Woods also went 2-of-3 (66.7%) from the floor and 2-for-2 (100%) at the free throw line while also grabbing two rebounds.
- The 48 points scored by the opponent is the fewest amount of points Hendrix's defense has allowed since Feb. 11, 2018 (W 60-47 vs Millsaps).
