Grand Prairie, TX - The Hendrix baseball team took the field today for their second game of the season competing in the Rusty Greer & Jackie Moore Collegiate Classic.
The Warriors took on the Texas Lutheran Bulldogs for a non-conference match-up. The Warriors, fresh off a tough loss from the day before, came into play with a 0-1 overall record.Â
The Bulldogs struck first in the game in the first inning with two runs. After a quick out in the second inning the Warriors batters reached base via a hit and a error in the bottom of the third.Â
Drew Judson then came up and drilled a RBI to open up scoring. A second run came around to score in the seventh inning when
John Barry touched home after
Seth Tucker reached on a muffed throw. However this run would be a little to late as Texas Luthern held a 5-2 lead.
The Warriors offense then got on base with a walk for Judson in the ninth. A single from
Tanner Cooper put runners on first and third with zero outs. After sacrifice fly from junior
Josh Walker, Judson would be able to advance to home for the Warriors last run of the game. They would ultimately fall 9-3.
The Warriors will play one last game in the Classic as they go up against the Bearcats of Willamette on Sunday, February 11th. First pitch is set for 10 a.m.Â
