Mount Berry, GA -Â The Hendrix baseball team traveled to Georgia on a Friday afternoon. The Warriors were back in action with a 7-13, 2-4 SAA record.
Berry wasted no time in game one getting on the board, striking in the bottom of the first. The Vikings led Hendrix 3-0 after the first inning.
Berry would have more early success. They struck again with two runs in the bottom of the second. They did this on four hits.
Hendrix struck in the top of the third inning. They scored two runs in the inning and cut their defect to the Vikings (5-2)Â after three full. In the inning Hendrix racked up two hits.
The Vikings struck back scoring two runs in the bottom of the fourth. The Vikings would now hold the 7-2 lead.
Hendrix added five more runs in the top of the fifth inning. They put up five hits. After five full the Warriors were all tied up 7-7.
After nine innings of play the game was tied up at 10-10 sending it into extra innings. Unfortunately after the game went into 14 innings HC's offense stalled and the Warriors fell 11-10.
Hayden Seay takes the loss and falls to 0-2 on the season.
Ford Sherrington had four hits in the game for the Warriors and scored a run.
Drew Judson recorded four RBIs for the Warriors and
Jorge Leon scored three runs. With the loss the Warriors drops to 7-14, 2-5 SAA on the season.
Evan Ingram got the call on the mound for the Warriors in game two. The game would remain scoreless and would again go into extra innings. Berry would score the only run of the game in the bottom of the ninth inning to give them the 1-0 victory.
Individually for the Warriors: Leon, Judson, and
Gerard Russo each had one hit.
The Warriors will be back in action tomorrow for the series finale against Berry. The game will kick off at 1:00 PM.
