Birmingham, AL - The Hendrix College baseball team hit the road on Saturday afternoon, taking on the Panthers of Birmingham Southern in a SAA Conference match-up. The Warriors fell in game one 6-2; however, Hendrix would take away BSC's chance at a sweep with a 5-4 win in game two.
Game one saw the Panthers go nuts at the plate, putting up multiple runs in the first three innings. This would be too much for HC to overcome as they would fall 6-2.
Game number two was a back-and-forth affair that came down to one swing of the bat. After Birmingham Southern jumped out with three runs in the bottom of the second, the Warriors got four back in the top half of the third. A
Seth Tucker double scoredÂ
JR McAuley to get the scoring started.
Drew Judson would cross home plate to put the Warriors ahead in the top of the eighth, and give them the game two 5-4 victory.
Tucker pitched well earning the win, striking out one.
The split leaves Hendrix sitting at 3-7 overall and 1-1 in SAA play as they now look forward to facing BSC again tomorrow for a single game.Â
