Birmingham, AL - The Hendrix Warriors baseball team kicked off day two of their match-up with Birmingham Southern Sunday afternoon. The Warriors entered play with a 3-7, 1-1 SAA record on the young season.
Taylor Barker got the ball on the hill in the contest. The Panthers got the scoring started early in the first inning.  After the bottom of the first the Panthers held a 2-0 lead over Hendrix.
Hendrix was then able to push across five runs to take the lead. In the top of the second inning, 
Jake Wiegand singled to get things started. 
Ford Sherrington followed that up with a walk. 
Drew Judson promptly smacked the first double of the frame for the Warriors which scored Wiegand from second. After four more runs the Warriors were up 5-2 after the top of the second.
The Warriors would surrender only one more run for the rest of the contest. The Warriors claimed victory 15-3 over Birmingham Southern.
Barker tossed almost a complete game going six innings and striking out four.

Layton Burge and 
JR McAuley each had two hits in the game; McAuley and 
Jorge Leon scored three and two runs respectively.
Hendrix improves their record to 4-7, 2-1 SAA on the season. 
The next Hendrix match-up is on Tuesday against Harding.
