Sewanee, TN - The Hendrix baseball team traveled to Sewanee, TN on a March afternoon. The Warriors were back in action for the first time since defeating Ozarks on Monday and sported a record of 8-16, 2-7 SAA.
Taylor Barker got the start on the mound for the Warriors today. Hendrix wasted no time getting on the board, striking in the top of the first.
Jorge Leon got it started with a single and
Drew Judson followed suit with a single himself as Leon would advance to third on the throw.
Tanner Cooper would ground out in a double play that saw Judson out as well but scored Leon. The Warriors would take the 1-0 lead after the top of the first. However, they would not be able to get another run across and would ultimately fall 3-1 to Sewanee.
Cooper had two hits in the game for the Warriors.
Layton Burge also recorded two hits for the Warriors and Leon scored the lone HC run. With the loss the Warriors drop to 8-17, 2-8 SAA.
The Warriors will be back in action Saturday when they take on the Tigers again this time in a doubleheader. The games will kick off at 12 PM.
