Jackson, MI - The Hendrix College women's tennis team dropped a tough match on Sunday to SAA Conference foe Millsaps 9-0.

Millsaps jumped out to an early 3-0 lead as they won all three doubles matches. Millsaps defeated Hendrix's Rebecca Sherman and Sarah Walker 8-1 in a very spirited first doubles match. Millsaps was then able to narrowly beat out Hendrix's second doubles pair of Laela Zaidi and Cooper Chimbel 8-4.  At third doubles, Hendrix's Sarah Glass and Sara Hoopchuk would take the loss 8-1.

In the single's competition, Millsaps again found themselves victorious in all six matches. Hendrix's Sherman gave a gutsy effort in the first singles match, but would ultimately fall 6-1, 4-6, 10-6. Millsaps was able to win at second singles over Walker 6-1, 6-3 in straight sets. Millsaps defeated Hendrix's Zaidi 6-1, 6-3 at third singles. Hendrix's Glass was able to give a strong performance against MC but would ultimately fall 6-3, 6-1.

The loss drops Hendrix to 3-10, 0-7 SAA. Hendrix returns to action Friday when they match up with Sewanee in the Quarterfinals of the SAA Conference Tournament.
