Conway, AR -Â The Hendrix baseball team was back in action Tuesday for their regular season finale against Lyon. The Warriors entered play with a record of 12-24 and a SAA conference record of 4-14.
Colin Martell got the ball to start for the Warriors.
The Scots came out of the gate hot and put up nine runs on the Warriors early.
In the bottom of the second inning Hendrix would put up two runs on the Scots to cut their deficit to 9-2.
The Scots added one more run in the top of the third inning and led the Warriors 10-2Â going into the bottom of the third.
The Warriors got on the board again in the bottom of the fourth inning off a
Noah Gilbert double and a
Jorge Leon single. Lyon would still lead the Warriors 10-4Â after four full innings.
In the top of the sixth inning Lyon put up one run on one hit. The Scots led the Warriors 11-4Â after the top of the sixth inning.
Lyon added three more runs in the top of the seventh and led 14-4.
In the bottom of the seventh inning
Ford Sherrington would single to center field. He would be brought home on a
Drew Judson single. After scoring four more runs in the inning the Warriors cut their deficit to 14-9 after seven full.
Those would be the last runs scored for HC as Lyon emerged victorious by a score of 22-9.
Martell dropped to 1-1 on the season with the loss. Judson had two RBIs and two runs scored in the game.
The Warriors will be back in action Thursday when they compete in the first round of the SAA Conference tournament and take on Berry College.Â
