Rome, GA - The Hendrix baseball team competed in the first round of the SAA Conference Tournament on Thursday. They came into the tournament as the eight seed and were to take on the number one seeded Berry College.
Seth Tucker started on the mound for the Warriors.
This one turned out to be a tough one for the Warriors. Tucker and the Warriors were able to hold Berry to only four runs through seven innings of play as going into the eighth inning things were all tied up at 4-4. However the Hendrix bats would fall silent throughout the last two innings as BC would put up five runs in the bottom of the eighth to take the 9-4 victory. The Warriors were able to get eight hits throughout nine innings and were held to four runs.
Jorge Leon,
Drew Judson,
Tanner Cooper,
Jake Wiegand,
Noah Gilbert, and
Layton Burge all recorded hits in the game for Hendrix.
The Warriors will return to action when they play in day two of the SAA Conference Tournament tomorrow as they take on the number five seeded Millsaps College.
