Jeff Trimble and the Warriors opened up the 2018 campaign in impressive fashion after a nice 6-1 victory over MacMurray Thursday evening. Freshman
Mary Helen VanHoy scored two of the first three goals, in her collegiate debut, for Hendrix to help set the tone for the remainder of the game en route to the season opening win.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Following her score with just over two minutes into the game, VanHoy found senior Hagan Griffith just over six minutes later for a quick 2-0 edge over the Highlanders.
- After a 3-0 lead, senior Sydney Blevins found the net at the 49:36 mark for her first goal of the season.
- Another score by Griffith in the second half put Hendrix up with a commanding 5-0 lead.
- After a nice cross by Blevins, senior Macie Stultz found the back of the net from 20 yards out to give the Warriors a 6-0 cushion.
WHAT WAS SAID
"This was a good win today," stated Coach Trimble. "I'm proud of how hard the girls played. We took advantage of the chances we had on goal and this was a good start to the season."

Hendrix remains at home again at Warrior Field for a showdown against UT-Tyler Sunday afternoon. The Warriors and Patriots are scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
