Michael Spainhour from 52 yards out early in the third quarter to give the Warriors a 20-point cushion at 30-10. The Scots would add a pair of touchdowns deep into the fourth but ultimately fell to Hendrix in front of over 1,200 fans inside Young-Wise Memorial Stadium by a score of 37-27.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- After throwing an interception on its first offensive possession, Hendrix managed to hold Lyon to two punts on its first two drives before Thompson found Johnson for the first score of the game.
- After a pick by freshman Dalton Lindelof, the Warriors managed to gain a pair of yards before senior Sandy Burks kicked a 22-yard field goal right down the middle for a 10-0 edge in the first quarter.
- Following a huge sack from sophomore Adonnis Butler on Lyon, Hendrix soon gained possession and made the most of its field position. This time, Burks recorded a successful 44-yard field goal to push the lead to 13-0.
- Senior Duwan Booker recorded one of his 2.5 sacks on second down for Lyon for a loss of six yards. Following an incomplete pass on 3rd and long, Hendrix soon obtained possession again. One play later, sophomore runningback Kip VanHoose scampered into the end zone from 85 yards out to give the Warriors the 20-0 lead in the first quarter.
- Following a score by Lyon, Hendrix soon tacked on another field goal; Burk's third successful field goal of the day, a 37-yard one this time.
- A 35-yard field goal from Lyon as time expired in the opening half gave Hendrix the 23-10 edge at the break.
- After Thompson found Spainhour, the Scots soon responded a few plays later with a 45-yard field goal.
- Thompson soon found sophomore Isaiah Davison for a huge 55-yard reception. One play later, senior Travis England found his way into the endzone untouched to give Hendrix a 37-13 lead with 9:59 remaining in regulation.
- Following a pair of Lyon touchdowns in the fourth, the Warriors managed to hold off the Scots for the 37-27 victory in Conway.
OFFENSIVE NOTABLES:
- VanHoose led the way on the ground for Hendrix; recording 139 yards on seven carries and a touchdown
- Thompson threw for 194 yards and threw for a pair of touchdowns; also ran for 78 yards.
- Davison recorded a team-best 78 receiving yards on three catches. Spainhour registered 62 reception yards as well.
- Junior quarterback Mason Doerr saw a pair of snaps against Lyon; completing one pass for a gain of 15 yards.
DEFENSIVE NOTABLES:
- Sophomore Tanner Hartsfield led the way with 10 assisted tackles and one unassisted tackle on the day; also recorded one tackle for loss.
- Sophomore Jared Bazley recorded a team-high 3.0 sacks on the day for a loss of 27 yards combined.
- Freshman Anthony Johnson registered four unassisted tackles and one assisted tackle in his collegiate debut.
- Lindelof ended up with the lone pick for the Warriors but recorded a game-best three pass break-up's.
- Senior Collin Mayer finished with six total tackles and a team-best two quarterback hurries.
- Butler ended up forcing a crucial fumble in the fourth quarter and recorded his own forced fumble; giving the Warriors all kinds of momentum late in a big game.
SPECIAL TEAMS NOTABLES:
- Burks went 3-for-3 on field goals on the day including a season-long 44-yard one. His 44-yard one tied the program's history for longest field goal in Warrior Football history. His three field goals ties him for second most successful field goal's in a game.
- Senior Garrett Wolf nailed three punts for a total of 137 yards (45.7 yards average). Wolf recorded a long of 55 yards on a punt and landed two inside the 20-yard line.
- Sophomore Charles-Antoine Gingras recorded eight kickoffs for a total of 359 yards (44.0 yards average).
OTHER NOTEABLES:
- With the win, Hendrix has now won its last three season openers in a row and five of its last six under Head Coach Buck Buchanan.
- Hendrix improves to 6-0 all-time against the Scots.
