SEGUIN, Texas – Following an impressive defensive showing against Lyon in the season opener a week ago, four total turnovers (three interceptions, one lost fumble) took a toll on the Warriors; suffering a 19-14 setback to the Bulldogs of Texas Lutheran University Saturday night in Texas. Brooks Parham led the way with 10 total tackles on the day.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- After kicking off to start the game, junior quarterback Miles Thompson found sophomore wide receiver Blake Hinton from 45 minutes out to grab the early 7-0 lead. Senior kicker Sandy Burks improved to 4/4 on PATs on the season after the successful try.
- TLU responded shortly with a touchdown of its own; failed two-point conversion.
- A two-yard rushing touchdown by the Bulldogs would be the lone score of the second quarter. TLU took a 13-7 lead into intermission.
- A six-yard scamper into the end zone by senior running back Travis England put the Orange & Black back on top, 14-13 with 10:18 remaining in the third quarter.
- The Bulldogs would connect on a 24-yard reception that resulted in a touchdown that would be the eventual game-winning score with 13:29 left in regulation.
- Following a bobbled snap on a field goal try from TLU, the Warriors managed to get the ball back with 1:34 left on the clock. After an incomplete pass on 4th-and-long, the Bulldogs managed to get the ball back to hang onto the 19-14 victory.
OFFENSIVE NOTABLES:
- Thompson led the Warriors with 103 passing yards on the night and one score. Doerr added 20 yards passing off the bench.
- Sophomore running back Kip VanHoose recorded a team-high 49 yards on the ground.Doerr added 13 and England pitched in 11.
- Senior wide out Michael Spainhour registered a team-best 61 yards receiving. Hinton finished right behind him with 50 and the teams lone receiving touchdown of the night.
- As a collective unit, the Warriors gained 197 yards of offense on 68 plays. Hendrix also gained 104 yards on four kick-off's.
- Hendrix finished the day with 123 total passing yards and 74 yards on the ground.
DEFENSIVE NOTABLES:
- After leading the team in tackles a week ago, sophomore Tanner Hartfield recorded nine tackles on the night against TLU including seven unassisted tackles.
- Freshman linebacker Anthony Johnson finished with nine tackles on the night as well. Johnson also recorded 1.0 sack for a loss of 14 yards.
- Sophomore Jayven Mohetau added seven total tackles against the Bulldogs; three of which were unassisted.
- As a team, the Warriors caused four turnovers on the Bulldogs as well (three lost fumbles, one interception).
SPECIAL TEAMS NOTABLES:
- Burks improved to 5-for-5 on the season on Point After Attempts after going 2-for-2 on Saturday.
- Senior punter Garrett Wolf recorded seven points on the night totaling 309 total yards (44.1 average) which included a season-high 60-yard one and three inside the opponents 20-yard line.
- Wolf recorded just one touchback and caused three fair catches.
