SHERMAN, Texas - Trying to snap a two-game skid and get to an even .500 in SAA play, Hendrix traveled west to Austin, Texas for a showdown with Head Coach
Buck Buchanan's alma mater Saturday evening. Unfortunately, the 'Roo's came out victorious in a 12-9 win for the home team.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- After a 20-yard field goal make from senior
Sandy Burks on Hendrix's second drive of the game, the Warriors held an early 3-0 lead after one quarter of play.
- Austin College managed to outscore Hendrix 10-0 in the second quarter to take a 10-7 lead into intermission.
- With no team scoring in the third, a safety halfway through the fourth gave Austin College the 12-3 advantage.
- Sophomore
Kip VanHoose found the end zone from 19 yards out with 1:54 left to play.
- After a 39-yard punt from the "Roo's with 1:22 to go, the Warriors had one last change at tying this game up or sending it into overtime.
- After a 15-yard unsportsmanlike conduct penalty on Austin College, Hendrix had it 1st and 10 at its own 34-yard line with 26 ticks left.
- A seven yard completion, an incomplete pass and a sack brought up 4th and 3 for the Orange & Black. A fumble by Hendrix and a recovery by Austin College helped give the 'Roo's the 12-9 win.
OFFENSIVE NOTEABLES:

Mason Doerr passed for 86 yards on 15 completions and 28 attempts.
- VanHoose averaged 4.4 yards per carry and recorded a team-best 88 yards on the night on 20 carries.

Blake Hinton finished with a team-high 40 yards on four catches with a long of 15 on the day.
DEFENSIVE NOTEABLES:
- Sophomore
Tanner Hartsfield led the way with nine tackles on the day; six of which were solo tackles and three assisted ones; also had 2.5 tackles for loss for a combined loss of nine yards.
- Sophomores
Adonnis Butler and
Jayven Mohetau and freshman
Jacob Bremmon each recorded six tackles apiece against Austin College; Bremmon added one pass break-up as well.
- Senior
Collin Mayer and sophomore
Brooks Parham each added one pass break-up on against the Panthers.
SPECIAL TEAMS NOTEABLES:
- Following Burks' 20-yard field goal make in the opening quarter, Burks moves to a perfect 6-for-6 from field goal tries on the 2018 season.
- Senior
Garrett Wolf managed eight punts for a combined total of 332 yards (41.5 average).
- Wolf also recorded two 50+ yard bombs and a long of 53 yards on the night.
- The Midlothian, Texas native landed two punts inside the Panthers 20-yard line.
- VanHoose returned three kickoffs for a combined 67 yards including a long of 36 yards.
