Moody's Offense Not Enough as Warriors Fall in Georgia

ROME, Ga. - Freshman guard Macy Moody tied a career-best with a 16-point performance in her first collegiate start including 12 in the opening half but it was not enough as Hendrix (9-10, 2-6 SAA) fell to Berry (8-11, 4-4 SAA) for the second time in seven days, xx-xx, Friday night in Rome, Ga. Moody also nailed a career-best four three-pointers against the Vikings Friday.

TURNING POINT
With the Vikings leading by two at the break, Berry scored the first seven points of the third period to take a commanding 30-21 lead as the Vikings did not look back for the remainder of the game.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- A three-pointer by Moody with almost eight minutes left in the opening frame gave Hendrix the 3-0 lead but trailed 13-11 after one period.
- Moody would strike for another trifecta in the second period and sophomore forward Kessie Jenkins would record a pair of baskets as Hendrix trailed by a pair of points at the break.
- Freshman guard Serena Pruitt, Jenkins and Moody combined to score seven of Hendrix's eight third period points as the Warriors trailed by 10 points with 10 minutes left.
- A three-pointer by freshman guard Sarah Vogel brought Hendrix within six points, 41-35, with 5:37 left in regulation.
- Berry recorded an 11-6 run to end the game for a 11-point win, 52-41.

OF NOTE
- Jenkins finished with 13 points on 5-of-8 shooting. The 13 points is the second-most by the sophomore this season; also tallied five rebounds and a steal.
- In just her 10th game of the season, Moody reached double figures for the fifth time this season. 
- Moody's two assists Friday was one shy of her career-high (Jan. 2 at Rhodes).
- Junior guard Amber Turner recorded six assists in all 40 minutes of action.
- Vogel hit her eighth three-pointer of the season Friday night after going 1-for-4 from deep against the Vikings.
- Hendrix shot 12-of-44 from the floor, 7-of-24 from deep and 10-of-16 (62.5%) at the free throw line while Berry shot 18-of-41 from the field, 6-of-18 from deep and 10-of-13 from the charity stripe.
- The Warriors recorded 10 assists on its 12 made baskets while Berry finished with 13 dimes on its 18 field goal makes.
- Hendrix turned the ball over 16 and forced 22 Berry turnovers.

Hendrix will look to alter a five-game skid when the Warriors face Oglethorpe for the second time in seven days Sunday. The Warriors and the Petrels are set for a 12 p.m. ET scheduled start time.
