Warriors Come Back to Beat Tigers in Five Sets to Continue SAA Dominance

SEWANEE, Tenn. - One day after claiming an impressive four-set win at Centre, the Warriors traveled to Sewanee, Tenn. looking for another back-to-back Southern Athletic Association road sweep for the second time this year and that's exactly what happened. The Tigers took the first two sets before Hendrix won the third one, 30-28, and the fourth one, 25-17. Hendrix managed to take down Sewanee in the fifth frame, 15-13, for the impressive come-from-behind win on the road in five sets. With the win, Hendrix improves to 14-3 on the year with an 8-1 mark in SAA play while Sewanee drops to 13-7 and 6-4 in conference games. Hendrix is currently tied for first place in the SAA standings with BSC.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Warriors hit .026 in the first set and .077 in the second one to trail two sets to none early on.
- Tied at seven in the third frame, Hendrix recorded a 7-0 run to take a commanding 14-7 lead capped off with a kill from Maddie Tovar.
- The Warriors led 21-19 but a quick 4-0 Tiger run allowed for a 23-21 lead in search of a three-set sweep versus Hendrix.
- Hendrix trailed 24-22 and won the next two points to avoid the sweep, tying the match at 24-all in the third period after kills from Mallory Carty and Claire Smith.
- Tied at 28, Carty recorded a kill right before Tovar and Carty recorded the block assist as Hendrix won the crazy third frame, 30-28.
- The Warriors held the 13-11 lead in the fourth set before 6-0 run gave the Warriors the 19-11 advantage; Hendrix took the set, 25-17.
- Sewanee quickly grabbed the first three points of the fifth set before Hendrix quickly tied the deciding set up at 3-all.
- Hendrix recorded a 3-0 run and a 4-0 run to take a commanding 13-10 lead.
- Knotted up at 13, Sewanee recorded an attack error before Carty won the game for Hendrix on a service ace.
- Sesalie Satterwhite recorded 23 assists in the five sets with two service aces while Carty produced a game-high 13 kills with eight block assists.
- One day after reaching 1,000 career kills, Lauren Dwyer recorded 11 more Sunday while also recording a team-best 19 digs.
- MaKenzie Presley accounted for 18 digs in the win while Carty carded a .579 attack percentage in the huge conference road win for the Warriors.
