Women's Soccer Falls to Berry Friday Night at Home

CONWAY, Ark. - Two days after Hendrix and Hagan Griffith made history, the Warriors hosted the Berry Vikings from Warrior Field Friday afternoon in a battle of two teams who entered Friday with a 1-2-1 mark in the Southern Athletic Association. The Vikings scored twice in the first half and once in the second half to defeat the Warriors, 3-1. Griffith scored Hendrix's lone goal; a header in the 51st minute. The goal was Griffith's 67th career one as a Warrior and her 22nd this season; breaking the single-season record in program history. With the loss, Hendrix drops to 6-6-5 on the year with a 1-3-1 mark in SAA play while Berry improves to 7-5-2 on the year with a 2-2-1 mark in conference games.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Berry scored in the third and 20th minutes to take the 2-0 lead at the break.
- Griffith scored her record-breaking 22nd goal of the year in the 51st minute off an assist from Bailey Lindsey; her third assist of the season.
- Berry scored less than two minutes after Griffith's score for a 3-1 advantage.
- The Vikings walked away from Warrior Field with the 3-1 win after 90 minutes of action.
- Despite the loss, the Warriors outshot the Vikings, 18-14, while also recording eight corner kicks on the night to Berry's two.
- Griffith carded a game-high eight shots versus the Vikings and four shots on goal.
- Mary Helen VanHoy registered three shots on the day while Sydney Wagner accounted for a pair as well.
- Anna Claire Lewis played the first 53:09; recording two saves while Avery Jensen played the final 36:51 and picked up two saves as well.
- With the loss, the Warriors drop to a sixth-place spot in the conference standings.

UP NEXT
The Warriors remain in Conway Sunday to battle Oglethorpe at 11 a.m. from Warrior Field in the final home game of the 2019 regular season. Hendrix's three seniors will be honored before kickoff and the game can be seen here.
