CONWAY, Ark. - Looking to get back to the winning side of things, Hendrix hosted Centre College inside the confines of Young-Wise Memorial Stadium Saturday afternoon after the Warriors fell to no. 8 Berry a week ago from Rome, Ga. In what would be a classic Southern Athletic Association overtime thriller, Centre got the best of the Warriors; defeating Hendrix 37-34 in overtime. Trailing by three with 2:05 left in regulation,
Sandy Burks capped off a 10-play, 72-yard drive with a 19-yard successful field goal as time expired to force overtime. Burks also registered a 29-yard try after Hendrix received the ball in overtime, Centre scored a 21-yard touchdown on 3rd-and-16 to defeat the Warriors by three, 37-34, in overtime on Crafton-Faulkner Field. With the loss, Hendrix falls to 4-2 on the year with a 2-2 mark in the SAA while Centre improves to 4-3 on the year and a 2-3 mark in conference games.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- For the fourth time this season, the Warriors scored on its opening possession as
Kip VanHoose rushed into the end zone from 12 yards out with 10:12 left in the opening quarter.
- After the Colonels tied the game up after one play on offense,
Chad McGonigal carded his second collegiate reception with 12:54 left until halftime to give Hendrix the 14-7 edge.
- Centre tied the game up but not before VanHoose scored from 18 yards out with under four minutes left until halftime to give the Warriors the seven-point cushion.
- Centre scored off of a special teams play after
Stone Paul forced a fumble on a punt return and a Colonel scooped the ball up and rushed into the end zone with 29 seconds left until the break; the game was tied, 21-21, at the break.
- Centre took the 28-21 edge with 7:00 left in the third quarter but McGonigal tied it up after recording his second touchdown reception of the day with 4:22 left in the third.
- Colonels took a three-point lead with 5:32 left in regulation after making a 39-yard field goal.
- Centre got the ball back with a three-lead after Burks missed fro 49 yards out on a field goal try.

Toby Trotter; the Warriors forced Centre to go three-and-out after the Colonels received the ball back leading by three with 2:36 left; the Warriors burned all three of its timeouts on the drive and received the ball with 2:05 left in regulation.
- Burks nailed a 19-yard field goal as time expires after the Warriors were unable to punch the ball into the end zone on four attempts inside the Colonels' four-yard line.
- Burks nailed a 29-yard field goal after Hendrix couldn't convert on 3rd-and-8 from Centre's 12-yard line.
- The Colonels walked away with the three-point road win after converting a 3rd-and-16 into a touchdown on the final play of the game.
OFFENSIVE NOTABLES:

Miles Thompson surpassed the 240-yard plateau, passing, for the third-straight game; completing 24 passes on 42 attempts for 243 yards and two scores.
- Thompson also rushed for 58 yards on 12 carries.
- VanHoose rushed for 78 yards on 21 attempts with two scores while
Austin O'Brien rushed for 12 yards on three attempts.
- McGonigal accounted for 92 receiving yards on seven catches with the two touchdowns while
Colton Phillips caught six passes for 72 yards.

Blake Hinton also accounted for 42 receiving yards on three catches.
- Hendrix finished with 392 yards of total offense on the day.
DEFENSIVE NOTABLES:

Matthew Scirto and
Mitchell Johnson finished with the game-high 11 tackles, defensively, for Hendrix.

Canon Roeder tallied nine tackles, including six solo ones, while
Tanner Hartsfield and
Adonnis Butler registered six tackles apiece Saturday afternoon.
- Hartsfield recorded the lone interception by either team; returning it 21 yards to the Centre 10-yard line with five minutes left in the third period.
- Paul recorded the lone forced fumble for Hendrix while
Jared Bazley recorded 1.5 sacks for a loss of 10 yards while
Jorge Astorga finished with half a sack for a loss of three yards.
- Scirto also registered a team-high two pass break-ups Saturday from Young-Wise Memorial Stadium.
- The Warriors held Centre to 393 total yards.
SPECIAL TEAMS NOTABLES:
- Burks finished 2-for-3 on field goal tries; connecting from 19-yards as time expired and nailing the 29-yard one in overtime.

Charles-Antoine Gingras accounted for four kickoffs for a total of 217 yards (54.0 average) while
Jackson Bryant recorded one for 27 yards.

Jaxon Sinclair registered three punts for a total of 107 yards (35.7 average) with a long of 45 yards on the day while Gingras accounted for three punts for 184 yards (36.8 average) and landed one inside Centre's 20-yard line.
NOTABLE INFORMATION:
- Saturday was the first time a Hendrix football game has went to overtime since the program was was revitalized in 2013.
- Neither team led by more than seven points throughout the game; a game that also featured five ties and four lead changes.
- With the loss, Hendrix drops to a fifth-place hold in the SAA standings; half a game ahead of the Colonels and half a game behind the Birmingham-Southern Panthers.
