Box Score CONWAY, Ark. - Looking to continue its momentum from a week ago and climb higher in the 2019 Southern Athletic Association football standings, Hendrix hosted Trinity (TX) Saturday afternoon in a battle of a pair of 5-2 team entering Saturday. After both teams scored a touchdown in the opening quarter, Trinity held the slim 14-10 lead at the half. The Warriors took a 17-14 lead with 2:24 left in regulation but a late eight-play, 69-yard drive that took 1:42 off the clock allowed for the Tigers to take the 20-17 lead. A Warrior interception with 14 seconds left in the game sealed the 20-17 victory for the Tigers. With the loss, Hendrix drops to 5-3 on the year with a 3-3 mark in the SAA. Trinity improves to 6-2 on the season with a 5-1 mark in conference games.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- After the Tigers scored on its opening possession, Hendrix got on the scoreboard with 2:28 left in the 1st quarter as
Sandy Burks connected from 27 yards out.
- Trinity scored a touchdown with 11 minutes left in the half before
Kip VanHoose scored from seven yards out with 6:46 left in the half as Hendrix trailed 14-10.

Deondre Henry recorded his first touchdown of the year with 2:24 left in regulation as he scored from one yard out to put Hendrix up 17-14.
- Trinity converted on 3rd-and-12 from Hendrix's 42-yard line with a deep pass that resulted into a 42-yard reception and touchdown as the Tigers scored with 36 seconds left in the game.
- With one last hope,
Miles Thompson was intercepted with 16 seconds left; sealing the Tigers' 20-17 victory from Conway Saturday.
OFFENSIVE NOTABLES:
- After passing for 350 yards and five total touchdowns a week ago, Thompson finished 26-for-34 for 248 yards with two interceptions.
- VanHoose finished with 43 yards on nine carries and one touchdown; averaging 4.8 yards per carry.

Blake Hinton finished with a season-best 124 reception yards on seven catches while
Colton Phillips accounted for 52 yards on nine catches.
- After tallying over 500 yards of total offense a year ago, the Warriors finished with 296 yards of offense Saturday
DEFENSIVE NOTABLES:

Tanner Hartsfield finished with a game-high 11 tackles while
Mitchell Johnson tallied 10 total tackles and one huge sack on second down late in the game.

Mason Adams logged nine tackles each while
Canon Roeder and
Adonnis Butler carded seven tackles apiece.
- Adams and Hartsfield each forced a fumble while Adams recorded two total sacks for a loss of 10 yards and 2.5 tackles for a loss of 11 yards.
- Butler finished with a team-best two pass breakups Saturday.
- Hendrix allowed only 247 total yards and only 90 rushing yards.
SPECIAL TEAMS NOTABLES:
- Burks finished 1-for-2 on field goal tries Saturday while also going 2-for-2 on PATs.
