JACKSON, Miss. - Saturday, Hendrix took part in the opening day of the 2019 Millsaps Classic against Mississippi University for Women.
Seth Stanley poured in a team-high 20 points and narrowly carded a double-double with nine rebounds against the Owls but
Brooks Cartwright helped Hendrix land the 70-66 win after nailing four free throws in the final 62 seconds. With the huge non-conference victory, Hendrix improves to 3-4 on the year while MUW drops to 2-4 on the season.

Rod Cummings II out of the first media timeout put Hendrix up six early, 8-2.
- After MUW recorded a 4-0 run to pull within two, 18-16, with 5:50 to go in the first half, Stanley, Cummings II and
Carl Fitch combined to score the next 10 points as Hendrix ballooned the lead to 10, 28-18, with 3:10 to play until halftime.

Jack Eaton scored the final three points for Hendrix, all in the final 42 seconds, as the Warriors held the 31-26 cushion at the break.
- The Owls tied the game up three different times in the final 20 minutes but never grabbed the lead as Hendrix managed to record the big 70-66 non-conference win against MUW Saturday from Jackson, Miss.

- Fitch recorded 14 points and seven rebounds while shooting 6-for-10 from the floor.

Jacob Link accounted for his first double-double of the season after tallying 11 boards and 11 points in 38 minutes of work; also shot 4-of-7 from the floor.

Jack Eaton recorded a season-best nine points and six rebounds off the bench in his second game of the year while playing in 27 minutes.
- Cartwright finished with six points; all six points coming from the charity stripe.
- Despite shooting just 2-for-19 (10.5 percent) from deep, the Warriors shot 21-for-57 (36.8 percent) from the floor and 26-for-36 (72.2 percent) from the charity stripe.
- Seven different players made at least one free throw and four different players made at least three free throws against the Owls Saturday.
