Tigers Able to Pick Up Victory Against Warriors Friday

CONWAY, Ark. – Looking for the regular season sweep against the Sewanee (9-12, 3-7 SAA) Tigers, Hendrix struggled offensively Friday night; allowing the Tigers to shoot 45% from the floor while Hendrix committed 20 turnovers. Sophomore forward Kessie Jenkins tallied her third collegiate double-double Friday night but it wasn't quite enough as Sewanee outscored the Warriors 20-10 in the final 10 minutes of action en route to the Tigers' 67-57 victory inside Grove Gymnasium.

TURNING POINT
Outscoring Hendrix 6-1 in points off turnovers, Sewanee was able to score 10 more points than Hendrix did in the fourth quarter.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- After a layup by senior forward Maddie Anderson, Hendrix jumped out to a 9-4 lead early in the opening frame. Hendrix led 17-12 after one.
- The Warriors, who led by as many as nine points in the second period, led just 31-29 at the intermission; Warriors shot 38.5% from the field in the opening half and committed seven turnovers.
- A quick 4-1 to start the second half by Sewanee put the Tigers back in front.
- Neither team led by more than five points in the third quarter; score was tied at 47-all with 10 minutes left in regulation.
- A 6-0 run by Sewanee helped the Tigers sustain all the momentum as the Tigers took the victory, 67-57.

OF NOTE
- Freshman guard Macy Moody tallied a team-high 14 points and a 7-of-8 mark at the free throw line against Sewanee.
- In addition to Jenkins' double-double performance, the sophomore shot 5-for-6 from the floor.
- Junior guard Amber Turner nearly garnered a double-double after a 10-rebound, eight-point performance; freshman guard Serena Pruitt added eight points as well.
- Hendrix shot 19-of-46 from the floor, 5-of-22 from deep and 14-for-22 at the free throw line while Sewanee shot 23-for-50 from the floor, 6-for-21 from downtown and 15-for-24 at the charity stripe.
- The Tigers held a 29-12 advantage over the Warriors on points off turnovers.

WHO'S NEXT
Looking for another regular season sweep, the Warriors will host Centre Sunday at noon inside Grove Gymnasium.
