BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Leading 50-40 with 13:02 to play, Hendrix (9-15, 5-8 SAA) could not contain Birmingham-Southern (12-11, 6-7 SAA) from stealing all the momentum Sunday as the Panthers tallied a 19-7 run to take a two-point lead with 7:51 to go. BSC ultimately withstood a late Warrior run as the Panthers walked away with a 78-69 victory.

TURNING POINT
A 9-0 run early in the third quarter gave the Panthers a four-point cushion. BSC never looked back as the Panthers held the lead for the rest of the game.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- After nine minutes of action, both teams were knotted up at 12-apiece after a layup by freshman guard
Sean Coman.
- Freshman forward
Seth Stanley put Hendrix up by two a made three-pointer then followed up by two good free throws by freshman
Carl Fitch as Hendrix led 19-15 with 9:34 til half.
- Trailing by one with 4:54 to go, Hendrix recorded an 10-1 run to end the half to take an eight-point cushion into the locker room.
- The Warriors led by 12 after a layup from freshman big man
Alex Conrad with 17:27 to go but BSC slowly started to take momentum.
- Back-to-back trifectas by the Panthers brought them within six but a layup by senior guard
Preston Smith put Hendrix back up eight with 15:30 to go.
- Leading 50-40 with 13:02 left, BSC netted a 19-7 run to take a two-point lead.
- After giving up the lead and trailing by two with 7:51 left, BSC never looked back as the Panthers shot 8-for-10 from deep in the second half alone and never relinquished the lead again; defeating Hendrix 78-69.
OF NOTE
- Stanley led the team in scoring yet again after pouring in 18 points and recording five rebounds
- Smith finished as the lone other Warrior to reach double figures after accounting for 14 points and a team-high four assists.
- Coman, Fitch and junior
Jacob Link combined to score 21 points and 13 rebounds against the Panthers while sophomore guard
Kam Brasfield tallied five points and two rebounds in his return due to an injury.
- Hendrix shot 28-for-62 from the floor, 7-of-21 from deep and 6-for-8 at the free throw line while BSC shot 23-for-52 from the floor, 10-of-22 from deep and 22-for-30 at the charity stripe.
-While the 28 made baskets are the second-most on the season for Hendrix, the six free throw makes and eight free throw attempts Sunday are new season-low statistics.
WHO'S NEXT
Now that the Warriors have finished the road portion of its regular season, Hendrix will battle Rhodes inside Grove Gymnasium Feb. 16 at 5 p.m. as part of Senior Day and the final home contest of the 2018-19 season.
