Millsaps Record Upset of Warriors in SAA Tournament Opener

CONWAY - Ark. - After winning its first-ever Southern Athletic Association regular season title following its 2019 campaign, No. 1 seed Hendrix battled No. 8 seed Millsaps in the 2019 SAA Baseball Championships opener Friday afternoon. The Warriors did not obtain its first hit until the sixth inning when Seth Tucker led the inning off with a single through the left side. Ultimately, Millsaps' three-run ninth inning was too much as the Majors pulled off its biggest upset of the season with a 5-1 defeat of the Warriors from Warrior Field in Conway to advance in the winner's side of the bracket. Hendrix will play the loser of the Rhodes/Centre game Saturday at 3:30 p.m. in an elimination game. Hendrix falls to 28-13 on the regular season while Millsaps improves to 10-31 on the year.

NOTABLE:
GAME 1
- Seth Tucker and Ford Sherrington carded the lone hits on the day for Hendrix.
- Ingram only allowed five hits in the outing while also only allowing one run and striking out three Majors.
- Jacob Wagner came in and tossed the entire eighth inning and started the ninth frame; allowed four hits and two runs.
- Kyle Wellman pitched the final inning for Hendrix; allowed two runs and two hits in the outing.-
- The Warriors have lost back-to-back games against SAA foes for the first time all season.
- Hendrix has a five-game losing skid in the SAA Tournament; three of those losses have came from Millsaps

WHO'S NEXT:
Hendrix will take on the loser of the Rhodes/Centre game from Friday evening in an elimination game Saturday at 3:30 p.m. If the Warriors should win, Hendrix would play immidately right after in another elimination game.
