Baseball Bounces Back with 9-0 Shutout Win in Game Two Against Tigers

CONWAY, Ark. – Sitting atop the Southern Athletic Standings with a one-game lead on Berry, Hendrix hosted Sewanee for a pair of games Saturday in Conway on the diamond. Due to inclement weather, the first game was played much earlier than originally anticipated. Sewanee limited the Warriors to just three hits in the first game as the Tigers won 8-1. As for the second game, Jack Hodgins tossed his first collegiate complete game as the freshman threw 111 pitches in the nine-inning outing, struck out 10 Tigers and allowed just six hits and did not allow an earned run as Hendrix blanked Sewanee, 9-0. After Saturday, Hendrix sustains a 23-9 record with a 10-4 mark in SAA play while Sewanee sits at 18-12 including a 5-8 mark in conference. With Hendrix's 23rd win of the season, the Warriors tie the program record for most victories in a season, a record that dates back to 1901.
