Warriors Fall to No. 17 Lyon in Final Non-Conference Contest of Regular Season

BATESVILLE, Ark. - Riding a two-game win streak after bouncing back from the opening game loss to Sewanee in the three-game set last weekend, Hendrix hit the road for its final non-conference contest of the 2019 regular season with a showdown against NAIA foe No. 17 Lyon. The Warriors took the lead in the second frame thanks to an RBI single by Josh Walker that scored Juan Pablo Leon but the Scots tallied the final five runs of the game to take the contest, 5-1. With the loss, Hendrix still holds a 24-10 mark on the season while Lyon improves to 31-12 on the year. 

HOW THE WARRIORS SCORED:
- 2nd - Juan Pablo Leon scored off a Josh Walker single.

WARRIORS' DECISION(S) ON THE MOUND:
   L – Hayden Seay (0-1); 5.0 IP, 5 H, 2 R/2 ER, 3 K/4 BB

NOTABLE:
- In his first start of the year and fifth appearance overall, Hayden Seay tossed five innings of work while allowing five hits and two runs against the Scots; also struck out four Lyon batters.
- Kyle Wellman replaced Seay in the sixth; striking out two while allowing two hits and a run in one inning of action.
- Seth Tucker pitched the eighth inning; striking out two and not allowing any hits.
- Ford Sherrington batted 3-for-4 at the plate Tuesday.
- Ju. Leon collected two hits against the Lyons as well.
- Walker and Sean Dehne collected the two other lone hits on the day for the Warriors.
- With the loss, Hendrix falls to 0-4 on the road against non-conference teams.

WHO'S NEXT:
The Warriors resume Southern Athletic Association play with a pivotal three-game series from Atlanta, Ga. against Oglethorpe. Two games are set for Saturday with one scheduled for Sunday. First pitch of Saturday's first game is set for 1 p.m. CT. With just six conference games left, Hendrix is currently tied with Berry for first place in the SAA standings while Berry travels to Memphis, Tenn. for a three-game set against Rhodes.
