CONWAY, Ark. - After playing its first six games of the season on the road, the Warriors hosted the 2019 Hendrix Invitational Saturday afternoon with a pair of matches inside the confines of Grove Gymnasium. Up first, Hendrix faced Southern Athletic Association rival Rhodes where the Warriors pulled out the brooms on the Lynx; sweeping them in straight sets (25-17, 25-16, 25-15). In the night cap, Hendrix faced Howard Payne where the Warriors once again landed a straight-set sweep; taking down the Yellow Jackets (25-10, 25-12, 25-14). Hendrix hit, as a team, over .400 in its home opener against Rhodes while hitting an even .375 against HPU. With the two big wins, Hendrix improves to 6-2 on the season with an 1-0 mark in SAA play while Rhodes falls to 6-4 on the year and Howard Payne drops to 1-8.

Game 1 vs Rhodes
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Trailing 7-6 early in the opening set, Hendrix recorded a pair of 3-0 runs midway through to take the set, 25-17, after a kill from Maddie Tovar.
- The Warriors hit .364 in the second frame, as a team, to take the second set, 25-16; Lauren Dwyer accounted for back-to-back kills off the first top points in the frame.
- Hendrix accounted for a game-high 18 kills off 30 total attacks (.533) as Hendrix cruised to the straight-set sweep following the 25-15 third set win.
- Claire Smith tallied a game-high 20 assists while Sesalie Satterwhite recorded 15.
- Dwyer registered a game-high 16 kills and five digs against the Lynx while Tovar added 10 kills.
- Satterwhite added a game-high nine digs while Molly Kingston added for eight in her collegiate home debut.

Game 2 vs Howard Payne
HOW IT HAPPENED
- HPU enjoyed the early 2-0 lead before a 6-0 run from the home team; Hendrix took the opening set, 25-10, after hitting .333 as a collective unit.
- Leading 17-10 in the second frame, Dwyer, Tovar and Kiersten Huitt combined to recorded five kills, part of a 7-0 run as the Warriors took the set, 25-12.
- The Warriors grabbed the early 4-0 run in the third period as the Warriors cruised to another sweep Saturday evening from Grove Gymnasium after hitting a game-high .455 in the set.
- Dwyer and Huitt combined for 21 kills while both hit over .380 against the Yellow Jackets.
- Dwyer also recorded a double-double after accounting for a team-high 15 digs in the three-set win; McGrath added 13 digs as well.
- Smith accounted for a team-best 20 assists once again while Satterwhite added nine.

UP NEXT
The Warriors remain in Conway for one final game in the 2019 Hendrix Invitational. Hendrix will battle Huntingdon Sunday at 2 p.m. from Garrison Court.
