ABILENE, Texas - Hendrix women's tennis headed west Friday to take part in the 2019 Intercollegiate Tennis Association Regional Championships from Abilene, Texas, hosted all weekend-long by Hardin-Simmons University. Hendrix recorded three match victories Friday as Rebecca Sherman tallied a round one singles win before Greer Ayers landed a straight-set win and Sarah Hoopchuk registered a narrow win in three sets. The Warriors will remain in Abilene, Texas to compete in the event Sunday as well.

WHAT WAS SAID
"The women's ITA event was important for us to see where we stack up and what we need to work on heading into the spring season," stated head man Craig Kirchgessner. "There was a lot of great competition and we learned a lot about our young ladies. Tennis is an interesting sport, where the score has a hard time telling you the whole story. Our team fought hard and recorded many closely-played matches."
