CONWAY, Ark. - Looking to get back to its winning ways, men's soccer hosted the Louisiana College Wildcats Saturday afternoon on Warrior Field in a non-conference contest. After the Gents took the early 1-0 lead; Hendrix scored the next two just before the Wildcats scored in the 31st minute. Tied 2-2 at the break,
Safin Attwal scored in the 64th, 66th and 90th minutes as the Warriors recorded the 5-2 victory to improve to 2-6 on the season while LC drops to 0-5. With the three goals Saturday, Attwal picked up his first-career hat trick.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- After LC scored in the 10th minute,
Josh Robbins found
Ricky Barrientos for his third goal of the season to tie the game up at 1.
- Less than eight minutes later, Barrientos recorded his fourth goal of the year; this time being unassisted as the Warriors took the 2-1 advantage through 21 minutes.
- After the Wildcats scored in the 31st minute, both teams went into halftime tied at 2.
- Attwal's first score came in the 64th minute off an assist from
Josh Robbins before Attwal scored again in the 66th minute unassisted.
- Leading 4-2, Attwal recorded the hat trick at the 89:05 mark, this time off an assist from Barrientos as the Warriors won, 5-2.
- Both teams recorded 10 shots on goal while Hendrix finished with 15 shots as a team in the win.
- Attwal only recorded three shots in the amazing performance while Barrientos tallied four shots and four shots on goal and
Luis Lara accounted for three shots and one shot on goal.
- Robbins picked up a pair of assists against the Wildcats while Barrientos scooped up one.
WHAT WAS SAID
"Really happy for the boys to get such a positive result," stated head coach
Matt Kern. "Barrientos scored two nice goals in the first half and Attwal's second half hat trick allowed us to pull away. We showed some improvement in our defending in the second half, which will be important moving forward."
UP NEXT
The Warriors hit the road to Shreveport, La. to take on Centenary (La.) Tuesday at 7 p.m.
