Balanced Attack Leads Hendrix to Fifth-Straight Sweep, Atop the SAA Standings

CONWAY, Ark. - Following a straight-set sweep of the Sewanee Tigers Saturday from Grove Gymnasium, Hendrix hosted the Centre Colonels Sunday afternoon to cap off the first back-to-back conference games of the year. Sunday, the Warriors continued right where they left off from Saturday, defeating the Colonels in straight sets (25-19, 25-17, 26-24). With the win, Hendrix improves to 9-2 on the year with a 3-0 mark in Southern Athletic Association play; good enough for first place in the standings while Centre drops to 4-6 and 1-2 in SAA action. WHAT WAS SAID
"Proud of this team for working hard to get another sweep," stated head coach Brittany Newberry following Hendrix's impressive straight-set win over Centre. "Centre didn't make it easy, especially in the third set. We got down and had to fight back until the very end. Thankfully, we practice that exact scenario every week in practice. Excited to get back in the gym Tuesday to continue to get better."
